ACCOMMODATION
The Heritance Kandalama has over 150 luxurious rooms, built on two separate wings, which blend perfectly with the natural environment. Each room has a breathtaking view. The Dambulla Wing has vistas of the surrounding mountains, the forest and Kandalama reservoir; whilst the Sigiriya Wing captures picturesque views of Sigiriya Rock.
The spacious and elegantly furnished rooms have en suite bathrooms with rain showers and hot and cold water. These glass-fronted bathrooms provide guests with constant views of the landscape, and occasionally the monkeys a view of you! The rooms boast luxurious simplicity, with solid timber flooring and timber interiors, and hand woven tapestries throw spots of colour into the cool crevices.
CUISINE
The Heritance Kandalama has [3] three restaurants offering a multitude of succulent delicacies, to satisfy both the Eastern and Western palette. The Al a Carte and fine dining restaurants along with the Kanchana Café have won many awards including the SAGA Good Food Award for ten [10] consecutive years.

Six Senses Spa
The Six Senses Spa is one of a chain of 24 award-winning, world renowned spa properties. Its main philosophy revolves around balancing a pyramid of the five senses. Sight, Sound and Touch make up the base of the pyramid; Taste and Smell form the central layer, with the apex symbolizing the unique sensory experience of a Six Senses Spa, with therapy packages to totally rejuvenate the mind, body and soul.

Nature Trails
In Sri Lanka, a visitor discovers the richest biodiversity in the whole of Asia per sq. km of available land area. With its very high endemicity, a visitor will encounter more than 3,360 species of flowering plants, 1,920 fungi, 242 species of butterflies, 78 species of fresh water fish, 322 non-migrant birds and 250 amphibians.
A hike to the historic Aligala (Elephant Rock) cave in the jungle, which is located to the east of the hotel, will take just 40 minutes.
Cycling
Cycle through typical Sri Lankan villages and farmland. The cycling route of 28 km around the hotel is virtually traffic-free and you will come across many places of scenic beauty.
Wildlife
The 8,889 hectare Minneriya National Park includes the catchment area of a main water reservoir 249 square km in extent built by King Mahasen about 15 centuries ago. One hour’s drive from the Hotel, this park is easily reached along the main road to Polonnaruwa. During August to October, over 300 elephants gather on the shores of the Minneriya Tank. This gathering of elephants is the highlight of the National Park and is one of the largest gatherings of elephants in the wild anywhere in the world.
Elephant Back Trekking
Elephant (Maximus Ceylonicus) is an intelligent and friendly animal if treated properly. Sri Lankan royalty always went about on elephant back on civic visits as well as to war. Enjoy and feel the majestic experience of riding one of them yourself.
Horse Riding
Those who like riding have a choice of thoroughbreds, crossbreds and even ponies. You can ride along nature trails so varied, that there is never a dull moment. Locations around the lake offer superb setting to enjoy nature.
Boat Rides
Experience a unique ride in an “Angula” the Sinhala name for a high floating raft. Visit the bird island in the centre of the lake where Egrest, Herons and Storks root for the night and fly away in the morning. Enjoy the sunset with the birds settling down on tree tops for the night.
