The whole town of Cesky Krumlov is on the UNESCO world heritage list, comprising 300 historic houses, the castle and chateau.

- Enjoy a day away from the hustle and bustle of the city
- Entry into castle (April – October only)

The town’s fairytale red-roofed castle is surrounded by landscaped gardens, and features grand courtyards, halls and furnishings. The castle’s development over the 14th to 19th centuries has been well preserved, both in layout and architectural detail. The mighty castle complex stands on a rock promontory sculpted by the Vltava River, dominating the attractive medieval town below.
Together with the magnificent Church of St. Vitus, the castle is a unique feature of the entire region. The town of Cesky Krumlov is situated in a valley surrounded by the Blansko Forest to the north and the undulating foothills of Sumava to the south and west.

This was a wonderful day tour even though it was quite cold and snowed on the way over there. I’ll have to come back after April 1st sometime when the castle is open. Cesky Krumlov is a charming, well preserved medieval town with lots of interesting history.
